Commercial Parking Discussion Planned for Thursday

The Harrison Town/Village board will meet for the first time this year Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Commercial parking will be one of several key issues the Harrison Town/Village Board will tackle during its first meeting of 2012.

Tabled during the last public meeting, the proposed new policy would in residential neighborhoods. Some homeowners have said the vehicles create parking and other problems in these areas.

Trustees decided at the last meeting that they needed to discuss what, exactly, would be considered a commercial vehicle under the new law.

Thursday night's meeting (agenda attached) will also be Ron Belmont's first as mayor/supervisor and Steve Malfitano's first meeting as a trustee.

  • The board will likely accept two anonymous donations to the Harrison Food Pantry totaling $125. 
  • Steve Malfitano will be appointed as deputy mayor/supervisor.
