Cohen Announcement Coming Soon, Concession Likely

The Republican challenger is expected to concede in his race against state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer.

After a tight election-night tally and weeks of recounts, state senate candidate Bob Cohen is expected to concede to incumbent Suzi Oppenheimer this morning.

Cohen has called a press conference for 10 a.m. today. The Scarsdale resident and Republican looked on the verge of toppling Oppenheimer as early election night results trickled in, then the race tightened as polls closed.

In the weeks since, the race continued to look close, but Oppenheimer has held on by a small margin and leads by more than 300 votes in the 37th Senate district race, according to the Board of Elections.
