Board to Hear Update on Harrison Water Rates

The Harrison Town Board will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

The manager and business director for the Westchester Joint Waterworks (WJWW) will make a presentation to the Harrison Town Board at this evening's meeting to discuss water rates for 2012-13.

Anthony Concetta and David Birdsall will make the presentation to the board at the 7:30 p.m. meeting. Harrison's water rates in 2011 and in 2010.

The board will also consider adding a new police K-9 at the meeting and will consider approving a conceptual plan for improvements to .

Other Agenda Items:

  • The Harrison Food Pantry will accept $1,501 dollars in donations, including $1,000 from the fifth grade class.
  • There will be a library work session before the meeting at 5:45 p.m.
  • A fire commissioner's meeting will take place immediately after the town and village board meetings.

Update: Water rates will go up 17 percent in 2012-13. We'll have more on this Friday morning.

The WJWW must have taken a page from the MTA playbook. Another 17% increase, 55% in three years. The WJWW is in need of an independent audit.
