West Harrison Man Tries to Take Wal-Mart Bike, Police Say

The following arrest information was provided by the White Plains Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A West Harrison man wasn't terribly creative as he tried to steal a mountain bike from Wal-Mart in White Plains this weekend, police say.

Store security told White Plains police they caught 53-year-old Richard Caponera simply wheeling the $88 bike out of the front door without paying just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

He didn't get far. Security stopped Caponera just past the main entrance and called police who arrested and charged him with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
