Teens Arrested for Allegedly Stealing From Parked Cars

Two teenagers were arrested on Sept. 3 after police say they were caught with items stolen from parked cars in West Harrison.

Two 17-year-olds were arrested in West Harrison on Sept. 3 after police say they stole items from several vehicles parked in West Harrison.

Police received a report that an Asian male and a white female were pulling on car door handles on Lakeview Avenue and looking inside. When an officer arrived at the scene the two suspects fled, but were found outside the Preston Elementary School.

Officers discovered a box and bags containing a variety of electronics including cell phones, I-Pods, I-phones and a GPS, as well as watches and credit cards. Police later determined that the objects were stolen from parked cars in the area.

Each teen was charged with five counts of petit larceny, five counts of criminal possession of stolen property and one count of grand larceny. More charges are also possible as police work to identify the property.

Police did not release the names of the teens.
