St. Vincent's Patient Charged With Felony After Attack on Hospital Personnel

A 34-year-old patient at St. Vincent's Hospital physically attacked two orderlies by punching and kicking them, causing injuries to both men and approximately $11K worth of damage to hospital property in the process.

The New Rochelle resident engaged in a tussle with the orderlies—who were both treated and released from White Plains Hospital—at 4:15 a.m. on June 23.  One of the orderlies reported that the patient had punched and kicked him in the face and body and the other orderly said the patient punched him in the back of the neck. The New Rochelle resident's left eye was swollen, bruised and bleeding.

The patient was arrested for third degree assault, a misdemeanor, and second degree criminal mischief, a felony. He was taken to Westchester County Jail as he was unable to post $5K bail.  He has two orders of protection against him from the  victims of his assault.
