Snowstorm Hits Harrison

More snow is expected to fall tonight and into tomorrow in Harrison.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in Harrison until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.  An additional 1 to 2 inches of  snow is expected in the region by nightfall.

As of Friday afternoon,the main roads in Harrison have been cleared, but no one from the Highway Department was available to comment according to the Harrison Department of Public Works.  Workers from the department are expected to work into the evening to clear off any additional snow.

Only about 15 homes in the immediate area are currently without power, according to a map provided by Con Edison.  The 15 homes, near the intersection of Boston Post Road and Osborn Road are without power because of burning wires, according to the map.

The Harrison School District is closed today, which cancels all after school programs that were scheduled for Friday night.
