Police: Weaving Driver Charged With DWI

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police have charged a Harrison man with driving while intoxicated after they say he was caught swerving his vehicle while traveling on North Street.

Harrison Police stopped Mathew Anzivino, 25, of 46 Calvert Street, Harrison, on June 12, at about 3 a.m, after they say he crossed the double-yellow line driving southbound on North Street.

While speaking with the driver, police report that Anzivino had bloodshot and watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. Police administered a field sobriety test, which they say the driver failed, and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Two passengers in the vehicle, a male and a female, were driven home by police.

Officers administered a blood-alcohol test on Anzivino at Harrison Police headquarters. According to his arrest report, Anzivino had a blood-alcohol level of .19—more than twice the legal limit to drive in New York State.

Anzivino was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated—a misdemeanor—and released, he is due in court June 21.
