Police: Two Drivers Charged With DWI, One Hit Two Parked Cars

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

After sideswiping one vehicle and crashing into another, a West Harrison woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after police say they found her at the scene of the accident with alcohol on her breath.

Police responded to the scene of the minor car accident on July 14, at about 3:45 a.m. There they say they found Erika Weinbacher, 33, 207 Lakeview Avenue, behind the wheel of her vehicle that had just crashed into a parked Chevy at Lakeview and Jefferson Streets.

Another vehicle had also been sideswiped near the scene, according to police.

Weinbacher had slurred speech and glassy eyes, according to police. After a field sobriety test, police conducted a blood-alcohol test at the scene. According to the test Weinbacher's BAC was .12.—the legal limit in New York State is .08.

She was processed at the scene and released.

A New Rochelle man also faces a driving while intoxicated charge after police say they spotted him swerving a truck along North Street with a blown out tire. 

The truck also had a trailer hitched to its back.

Police stopped 41-year-old Joel Cardenas, 17 Colonial Place, New Rochelle, on July 16 at about 5 p.m. During an interview police reported a strong smell of alcohol inside the vehicle. 

Police performed a blood-alcohol test at the scene, which revealed that Cardenas had a BAC of .20—more than twice the legal limit to drive in New York State.

Cardenas was processed and released. He is due in court on Aug. 9.
