Police: Man Used Fake Name During Traffic Stop on Westchester Avenue

The man was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation.

Harrison police have charged a 23-year-old Brooklyn man with criminal impersonation after they say he tried to use someone else's driver's license during a traffic stop.

Martin Deleon gave police another man's license after he was pulled over on Westchester Avenue on April 20, police say. Police eventually found a passport in Deleon's pocket which did not match the license he provided.

Once his identity was confirmed, police found that Deleon's driver's license was suspended. He was arrested for criminal impersonation, cited for several driving infractions and later released on $200 cash bail.
