Police: Man Arrested For Urinating on School Property

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A pee break near a Harrison school led to exposure and marijuana possession charges for a Riverdale man, police say.

An officer driving along Nelson Avenue spotted John Acevedo, 54, while he was urinating near the tennis courts behind Harrison Avenue School at about 11:20 p.m. on July 13, police said. Acevedo, of 6138 Fieldston Road in Riverdale, then entered a vehicle nearby and left the scene. 

Police followed and stopped Acevedo on Union Avenue, where he was placed under arrest for exposure. The suspect then admitted to having eight ounces of marijuana in his pocket, which he gave to police. Acevedo was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

The suspect was charged and processed at the scene before he was eventually released.
