Police: Harrison Teen Cited For UPM

The following arrest report was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Harrison teenager was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana after police say they found a bag of pot in his front glove box during a traffic stop near the intersection of Ellsworth Avenue and Holland Street.

The 18-year-old was initially stopped at about 7 p.m. on April 27 because his vehicle didn't have a front bumper, according to arrest reports. While speaking with the driver, police say they smelled unburnt marijuana and searched the vehicle.

Police say they found a small yellow plastic bag containing marijuana in the glove box. Although the 18-year-old and two others teens in the vehicle said they didn't know the pot was in the vehicle, the 18-year-old was cited because it was his vehicle.

The 18-year-old was released at the scene is due in Harrison court on May 15 to answer to the violation.
