Police Find Loaded Gun, Arrest 2 Men

Harrison Police conducted several police checkpoints during the holiday weekend, resulting in 26 total arrests and 112 summonses.

Harrison police found a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the possession of two Bridgeport CT men while conducting traffic safety checks over Labor Day weekend, according to a department press release.

Michael Stratford, 23, and Demark Bond, 32, were arrested at a DWI checkpoint. The men will face charges of second and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon—both felonies. Stratford was also charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

There were also four arrests for driving while intoxicated over the weekend, as well as one arrest for criminal possession of a controlled substance and 17 arrests for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

A total of 22 vehicles were impounded and 112 summonses were issued for traffic violations during the holiday weekend, according to Harrison police.
