Police: Fake ID, License Plates, Lead to Arrest

A summary of arrests from the Harrison Police Department this week.

A 21-year-old Connecticut woman is facing criminal impersonation and forgery charges after police say she gave officers a fake ID and was using a fake temporary license on her vehicle.

Leticia Ferreira, 21, was stopped by police on April 26 at about 10:30 p.m. after an officer noticed there was no permanent license plate on her vehicle as she drove on Westchester Avenue. According to police, Ferreira gave police an identification card that was later determined to be fake, and later admitted that she had purchased temporary Arkansas tags for the vehicle on Craigslist and placed them on her car illegally.

Although Ferreira maintained that the original license handed over to police was real, she eventually admitted to police that she had purchased it on the internet when an officer found what police believe to be a legitimate health plan identification card in the vehicle that listed a different date of birth.
