A summary of arrests from the Harrison Police Department from August 10 - 17.

Drinking in Public

A 55-year-old man was arrested when police spotted him drinking a beer in Veterans Park on August 12 at about 5:15 p.m.

The man is due in court on August 19.

Assault During Bar Dispute

Police believe 41-year-old Marlisa Dobler hit a bartender with a napkin holder in My Place Bar during an argument on Aug. 14 at about 2 a.m., earning her a second-degree assault charge.

The owner of the bar removed Dobler from the establishment before calling police. Upon arrival police met with the bartender who had laceration above her right eye. The victim was treated at a hospital after signing a deposition stating she wished to press charges.

Later that day Police arrested Dobler at her home. She is due in court on Aug. 31.

Driving With a Suspended License

Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Lake Street on Aug. 12, at about 12:40 p.m. A computer check of the 36-year-old driver revealed a suspended license.

The driver was issued a summons for Sept. 14, and was released at the scene.

Marijuana Possession

Police stopped a vehicle for having a tinted front windshield on Aug. 12, at about 5 p.m. While speaking to the driver the officer at the scene reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Bernny Jiminez, admitted to police that he had smoked a small amount of marijuana prior to being stopped. Police performed a field sobriety test, which he passed.

A check of Jiminez's license, however, revealed two active suspensions and police found two marijuana cigarettes inside the vehicle. Jiminez was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. 

He was released on $50 cash bail and is due in court on Aug. 31.

Driving With a Suspended License

Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Mamaroneck Avenue on Aug. 16, at about 7:30 p.m.

A computer check of the 22-year-old driver revealed a suspended license. Police placed the driver under arrest and later released her at the scene. She is due in court on Aug. 24.

Illegal Contractor

Police issued an appearance ticket to a person conducting home improvements on a home on Sterling Road without a Westchester County Contractors License on Aug. 17, at 12:30 p.m.

Police say the man was painting the exterior of the home without a license, a violation of the Westchester County Consumer Protection Code.
