Police Blotter: 3/29 - 4/7

A look at the events within the Harrison Police Department this week.

Warrant Arrest

On March 29, at around 2:08 p.m. a New Rochelle man was arrested at the New Rochelle Police Department for an outstanding warrant out of the Harrison jurisdiction.

The man, identified in a police report as Mitchell Hernandez, 25, was transported to Harrison police headquarters without incident and bail has been set by the town court. He has been transported to Westchester County Jail.

Criminal Mischief/Vandalism

On April 1, at 9:43 a.m. Harrison Police responded to Brentwood Park on a report of criminal mischief. When the responding officer arrived at the scene he reported that the water fountain between the men's and women's bathrooms in the park had been forcibly removed.

There was no additional damage to any structures or equipment in the area. The total value of the property damaged was estimated to be under $250.

Driving With A Suspended License

On April 3, at 2:05 p.m. a Harrison police officer performed a traffic stop on Mamaroneck Avenue after observing a vehicle moving approximately 62 mph in a 40 mph zone.

When the officer checked the woman's license he observed that holes had been punched into it. A computer check confirmed that the driver had a suspended license.

The driver, identified in the report as Juliana DaSilveiri, 33, was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters. She was released on $100 bail and given two summonses. She is due in Harrison court on April 20.

Criminal Mischief/Graffiti

On April 3, at 2:24 p.m. police responded to 327 Halstead Avenue in response to reported criminal mischief. The officer reported seeing three graffiti markings on the front left corner of the building. 

There were no witnesses at the scene.

Criminal Mischief/Graffiti

On April 5, at 10:07 a.m. Harrison Police responded to a complaint of graffiti in the Harrison Veterans Park. Police found yellow paint spots in the veterans building men's and woman's bathrooms. Similar paint spots were also found on a garbage container located on the side of the building.

There were no witnesses at the scene.
