Police Accuse 4 of Driving While Intoxicated

The following arrest reports were provided by the Harrison Police Department, they do not indicate a conviction.

Four people face driving while intoxicated charges after police say they were caught driving drunk on Harrison streets over the last few weeks.

The most recent incident took place at about 11 p.m. on Feb 19 when police say they caught 37-year-old Miguel Cruz drunk behind the wheel on Halstead Avenue. Police stopped Cruz, of Bridgeport, CT, after they say he failed to obey a blinking red light.

After conducting the stop the responding officer said Cruz smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and was traveling with an open beer bottle in the vehicle. Cruz did not provide any identification at that time, and police say he twice gave them a false name.
