Police: 6 Cited for Marijuana Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

Harrison police handed out six citations for marijuana possession over the last few weeks, including a White Plains teenager who police say was also caught carrying prescription pills without authorization.

Police stopped the girl, 17, for speeding on March 25 near 440 Mamaroneck Avenue. Police say while the girl reached into a clear plastic bag to retrieve her license and registration, they noticed four white pills inside the bag.

The girl told police the pills were prescribed to her, but said she didn't have the prescription. Police say they also found a small plastic bag containing marijuana in the vehicle.

Police charged the teen with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. The girl was processed and released without bail and was due in court April 10.

Harrison Police cited five other people for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

  • A 20-year-old woman from Kingwood, TX, was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana on March 30 at about 12:15 p.m. Police say the woman was carrying marijuana while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Halstead Avenue. The woman is due in Harrison court April 17.
  • A 29-year-old man from Mamaroneck was issued a citation for unlawful possession of marijuana after police say he was carrying a glass jar and pipe containing marijuana in his vehicle. Police say the man was pulled over for speeding near 480 Mamaroneck Avenue on March 30 at about 10:20 p.m. The man was also cited for traffic violations, he is due in Harrison court April 17.
  • A 24-year-old Mt. Vernon man was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana on March 25 at about 6:20 p.m. after police say he was carrying a small bag of marijuana in the passenger seat of a vehicle stopped near 565 Westchester Avenue. Police say they vehicle was pulled over for speeding. The man was due in Harrison court on April 10.
  • A 20-year-old Port Chester man was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana on March 24 at about 8 p.m. after police say they found a small bag of marijuana and several small marijuana cigarettes in his vehicle after a traffic stop on Broadway in Harrison. The man is due in Harrison court April 17.
  • A 20-year-old Harrison man was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana on March 22 after police say he was caught carrying a marijuana cigarette in his vehicle during a traffic stop near the intersection of Grove Street and Sunnyhill Drive.
