No Charges Filed In Monday's Stabbing At Palisades Center

Police report taxi driver stabbed two men after argument.

Clarkstown Police report no charges are being filed in connection with Monday morning's stabbing of two men. Police say the stabbing resulted from a dispute between a taxi driver and three passengers at 1:40 a.m. near the Palisades Center bus stop. The argument began when the taxi driver identified as Ondre Wisdom, 34, of Stony Point, insisted on payment upfront.

All four people involved got out of the taxi and police report Ondre used a pocketknife to stab Gilberto Ramos, 22, of Nanuet and Jaieem Webb, 22, of Spring Valley. Ramos and Webb were injured and taken to the hospital. The injuries were non-life threatening. Wisdom was not injured. There is no report of any injury to the third passenger, Corey Major, 36, from Spring Valley.

Police report no charges are being filed following their investigation and consultation with the Rockland County District Attorney’s office. None of the men involved want to file charges.

Ondre Wisdom --Your my hero...Great job....We need more people like you.. .Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) ....."Go ahead, make my day, Too bad he did not have a .44 Magnum revolver ....The world would be a better place if we had more people like Ondre

Well, I definitely owe some people major apologies. As I usually do, My mouth was engaged before my brain. I missed the point of the story entirely. The cab driver probably was defending himself and had every right to do what he did. Unfortunately, he didn't damage them more. I would have. And that's why I no longer go to the Palisades Mall. Sorry for the screw-up.

Thanks Robin - but it seems something is missing. FYI I was a cab driver many years ago (not that it matters) but....

Two comments.....it most other communties this would be considered a crime and people would be arrested.....I wonder if those involved were not named Gilberto Ramos, of Nanuet and Jaieem Webb, of Spring Valley but instead Sean Kelly of New City and Sam Goldstein of West Nyack if arrests would have been made? And second, I now know why Clarkstown ranks in the top 10 of safe cities in the USA.....just don't make arrests and report the crimes.

Bruce, I am not sure where you live but yes a person does have a right to defend themselves but not the right to stab someone......that is why we havethe Police, DA and Courts so this type of action is adjudicated by the proper authorities and does not occur in a civil society. I hope this is not the future of how crime will be handled in Clarkstown?
