Multiple Vehicle Accident on S/B Hutch in Purchase

Two lanes were closed on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway Thursday morning as authorities cleared a multiple vehicle accident that occurred near the Interstate 287 interchange.

A tractor-trailer blocked both lanes for about an hour between in the Interstate 287 west and east exits on the HRP. Two other vehicles were stopped nearby with slight damage and a fourth vehicle was towed from the scene at about 11 a.m.

One lane was opened at about 11:20 a.m., until then southbound traffic was directed to use the shoulder around the accident scene. Traffic was backed up slightly in the area.

The Westchester County Police, Harrison EMS and Purchase Fire Department were on the scene. It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries.
