Massage Parlor; Knitting Supplies Stolen; Light on Hudson River

Recent weird and unusual crime in the Hudson Valley.

 

An iPad valued at $199 and $125 worth of knitting supplies were reported stolen from a car parked on Reservoir Road in Katonah.

A New Jersey woman operating an illegal massage parlor in Central Nyack was charged with prostitution following an investigation. Clarkstown police have arrested proprietors of similar illegal massage parlors over the last two years.

A Congers man and New Jersey man allegedly got into a fight over food and service at the . Both were arrested for fighting with diner staff and smashing tableware, according to Clarkstown police.

A Brooklyn man staying with the parents of his child's mother in New Rochelle allegedly punched the grandfather and weilded a sword at the grandmother. The man, Tom Lopez, 19, was reportedly seen holding a 1-month-old baby by the wrist before throwing the baby in the air. A woman caught the baby, who sustained no injuries. 

 

Two Peekskill residents were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after allegedly stealing a catch basin grate from Yorktown, police said. The grate and frame were valued at about $1,000. 

Approximately a dozen old windows were dumped onto a residential property at Westchester Avenue and New Broad Street in Portchester. 

Irvington police reported a man called in a "discoloration with a blue-ish hue in the middle of the river." Police confirmed the color and the Coast Guard responded. The Coast Guard confirmed that the disoloration was sunlight. 

A Southeast resident reported that someone rang his doorbell and then left, but troopers found no criminal activity on the property.
