Man Run Over by Truck He Was Working On, Listed in Fair Condition

He dialed 911 after the propped-up pickup fell.

A 49-year-old Southeast man remained hospitalized Tuesday, a day after being run over by the pickup truck he was working on in his driveway, according to officials.

The incident occurred on Scenic Ridge Drive at about 7:20 Monday morning. The man—who authorities say called 911 after he was hit—failed to correctly prop up the wheels of his Ford F350. He was lying underneath the vehicle, which Ford calls a "super duty truck."

After he disconnected the rear wheels from the transmission, according to State Police, the car began to move, and a rear wheel ran over his head.

When first-responders arrived, the man was conscious and walking around. Members of the Brewster Fire Department transported him via ambulance to Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. Spokesperson Diane Burke said Tuesday afternoon he was listed in fair condition.
