Harrison Police Welcomes 5 New Officers

Five new patrolmen were sworn in Friday morning. Each officer will begin police academy training Monday.

The Harrison Police Department received a boost in numbers Friday as five new patrolmen officially joined the department's ranks.

Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Ron Belmont administered the oath of office at town hall in front of the Harrison Town Board, members of the police department and the new officers' families.

"Harrison remains committed to keeping our community safe," said Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Ron Belmont. "This is a terrific group of young men. The police department and our community are fortunate to have them on the force."

John Campo, Anthony Conte, Ronald Olivier, Patrick Varbero and Augusto Corvino, the new officers, will begin training at the police academy Monday. The five will begin working within the Harrison Police Department after graduation.
