Driving With A Suspended License

On April 21, at about 2:15 p.m., Harrison Police stopped a vehicle for driving on the shoulder of the Hutchinson River Parkway. While speaking with police, the driver, 20-year-old Chris Schirripa, admitted that his driver's license had been suspended for a previous DWI charge.

Schirripa was placed under arrest for second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and transported to Harrison Police Headquarters. He was processed and released on $250 cash bail and was due in court on April 27.

Driving With A Suspended Registration

On April 24, at about 12:04 p.m., Harrison Police used a plate scanner to identify that a vehicle driving on Halstead Avenue may have had a suspended registration. Police stopped the vehicle, where it was discovered that registration of the vehicle was suspended because of an insurance lapse.

The driver, identified as 54-year-old Jose Linares, was summonsed and is due on court on May 11.

Criminal Trespassing

On April 25, at about 1:37 a.m., Harrison Police responded to a report of a woman trespassing in a home on Park Avenue in Harrison. The owner of the home told police that the woman, 20-year-old Sasha Almestica, was an ex-girlfriend of their son's and that she did not leave after being asked several times. The owner of the home also told police that he has asked the woman to not come to his home many times before.

Almestica, who had left the home while police arrived, was placed under arrest for trespassing and transported to police headquarters. She was later released on her own recognizance and was due to return to court on April 27.

Driving While Intoxicated

On April 25, at about 3:17 p.m., Harrison Police responded to a one-car accident on West Street, where a vehicle's front end had hit a telephone pole.

While interviewing the driver, identified as 47-year-old Daniel Murabito, the responding officer reported a strong odor of alcohol. Police also said that they could see several empty beer cans in the vehicle.

Murabito was extricated from his vehicle by the Harrison Fire Department and transported to Westchester Medical Center. He was placed under arrest for DWI in the ambulance. During transport, Murabito admitted to drinking two mixed drinks before driving the vehicle.

Murabito was processed and released at the hospital and is due in Harrison Court on May 9.

DWAI and Criminal Impersonation

On April 25, at about 10:30 p.m., Harrison Police stopped a vehicle that the police officer said was repeatedly crossing a double yellow line on Caste Brook Road.

While speaking with the driver the officer reported a strong smell of marijuana. The driver then presented a driver's license that police said did not match the description of the driver. Police also noted that the picture on the license appeared to be that of another person. The driver told police that the license was, in fact his, and denied smoking marijuana.

While searching the vehicle police reported several marijuana leaves and seeds on the driver's side carpet. They also noticed that the driver's eyes were red, bloodshot and watery.

Police arrested the driver and told him that he would be detained until his identity could be determined. The operator then told police that he had "messed up" and identified himself as 18-year-old Jose Ayora, which did not match the license originally presented.

Ayora was arrested for criminal impersonation and driving while ability impaired. He was released on $450 cash bail with a return court date of May 4.

Active Arrest Warrant

On April 27, at about 10:15 a.m., 29-year-old Hector Rodriguez surrendered to an active arrest warrant issued by the Town of Harrison. Rodriguez was booked and arraigned by Judge Marc Lust.
