For the second week in a row, Harrison Police were busy with suspended licenses.
Here is a look at noteworthy happenings of the Harrison Police Department between Jan. 11 and Jan. 16. For the second week in a row, officers were kept busy dealing with drivers with suspended licenses.
Suspended licenses
At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Jan. 13, Officer Thomas Milone was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle with an expired blue inspection sticker. The officer conducted a vehicle stop by activating the emergency lights on his patrol vehicle, and pulled the vehicle over in the vicinity of Park Ave. and Fremont St.

Milone approached the driver side of the vehicle and asked the driver for his license, registration and proof of insurance. The driver produced a New York State driver's license identifying himself as Jonathan Felton, 22, of Beacon, NY.
A check revealed Felton had a suspended Class D New York State driver's license. He was issued two summonses. Proline Towing responded and the vehicle was impounded.

At approximately 11:13 a.m. on Jan. 11, Officer Edward Detlefs was on patrol and noticed a vehicle traveling westbound on Halstead Ave. Upon stopping at the traffic light at the intersection of Halstead Ave. and Osborn Road, pipes on the roof of the vehicle fell off.
Detlefs pulled behind the vehicle and activated his emergency lights. The vehicle operator had already exited his vehicle and was inspecting the pipes on the ground. Officer Detefs asked the operator for his driver's license, and he stated he did not have it with him.
He identified himself as Eustace James, 47, of the Bronx, NY. The officer did a quick check and found that James' driving status was revoked and that he had 18 suspensions on three dates. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Harrison Police Department. James was released to company employees on $70 bail.
