Marijuana Possession Suspects Arraigned

Judge Ronald Bianchi told Nicholas Fabro on Tuesday that he will likely qualify for legal aid following his arraignment for fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors. 

Fabro, 20, was assigned an interview with an attorney from the legal aid society.

Benny Jiminez was also arraigned for a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arrested on Aug. 12 after police say they found two marijuana cigarettes in his vehicle.

He was also assigned an interview with legal aid.

Larceny Suspect Given a Month to Pay Up

Nelson Matos previously settled restitution stemming from a charge of petite larceny at $83. He said in court Tuesday that he did not have the money to pay, but will have the necessary funds later in the week. Due to scheduling conflicts between him and his attorney, Matos was given until Sept. 28 to turn the money over to the court.

DWI Suspect Arraigned

William Duncan was arraigned following an arrest for DWI and aggravated DWI. He was given permission to interview with legal aid and assigned a future court date.

Assault Suspect Considering Plea Offer

Attorneys representing Michael Horvath requested additional time to consider a plea offered regarding Horvath's arrest for second degree assault. Horvath, who has appeared in Harrison court several times this summer for the same charge was given until Sept. 21 to consider a deal.

Child Endangerment Suspect Might Go To Trial

Jason Kash, who has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child was given the option of accepting a plea or going to trial to face his charges. He was given until Sept. 28 to consider his options.

People Seek Probation For DWI Suspect 

The prosecution said Tuesday that they are seeking probation in the DWI case against Bernard Herrera. Judge Bianchi asked for a completed drug and alcohol evaluation before moving forward with the case.
