Car Trunk Full of Drugs Yields Eight Felony Counts for White Plains Residents

Two men were charged with numerous felonies after Harrison Police discovered a trove of drugs stashed in a car trunk with an estimated street value of $20K.

William Cabanillas, 25, and Juan Manzo, 30, both White Plains' residents, were pulled over near Exit 9S on the Hutchinson River Parkway on July 22 around 10:45 p.m. after making an illegal turn, according to a release sent out by the Harrison Police Department. 

Officers discovered marijuana on both Cabanillas and Manzo and arrested them for unlawful possession of the drug.

Later, after the Acura Integra Cabanillas was driving was towed to Harrison police headquarters, K-9 dogs sniffed out a quantity of additional illegal substances which includes two ounces of cocaine, 17 grams of Moon Rocks of Molly (MDMA), 114 oxycodone pills, 90 clonazepam pills (typically used to treat panic disorder and anxiety), 15 hydrocodone pills, 20 pounds of hashish, concentrated cannabis as well as packaging bags, scales and packaging materials, said the release.

Both Cabanillas and Manzo were charged with eight felony counts which included fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic drug with intent to sell (three counts); third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a hallucinogenic substance weighing five grams or more; third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one or more preparations, compounds, mixtures or substances containing a narcotic drug and said preparations, compounds, mixtures or substances are of an aggregate weight of one-half ounce or more (two counts) and third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a hallucinogenic substance with intent to sell it and said hallucinogenic substance weighs one gram or more.

Manzo is also thought to have a connection to the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS13) gang. 

Cabanillas and Manzo were taken to Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
