A Bedford Hills woman faces driving while impaired charges after allegedly operating a car erratically in Katonah, police said.
Officers on patrol responded to a call about an erratic driver and observed Stephani Colin, 61, driving in and out of her lane on Bedford Road near Huntville Road. They followed her car to the Katonah Shopping Center. Colin stepped out of her car and officers performed field sobriety tests, which she failed. She took a breath test which revealed a .00 BAC.
Police officers brought her back to headquarters for processing and charged her with improper lane use and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Investigators await the toxicology results from a urine test Colin submitted to at the police department. She was released without bail pending a return to town court.
Goldens Bridge Woman Falsely Reports Robbery
A resident of Goldens Bridge was arrested after she fabricated a story about being robbed, police said.
Paola Lombana Florez, 29, told police she was on her bicycle in N. Bedford Road on Nov. 8 when a man pushed her to the ground and stole some of her personal belongings, including her "green card," or proof of U.S. residency.
Police said their investigation revealed that she had actually misplaced or lost her green card but did not want to admit that to her family. She said she was preparing for a trip to Columbia and realized the green card was missing.
She was arrested and charged with third degree falsely reporting an incident. She was released without bail pending a return to town court.
