Accident, Flooding Forcing Lane Closures on Hutch

A gray Mercedes was pinned against the medium on the Hutchinson River Parkway Friday, closing a lane while authorities cleared the scene. Another lane has been closed because of flooding.

A gray Mercedes crashed into the center medium of the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway Friday afternoon, temporarily closing the left lane and causing slight traffic backup.

The four-door vehicle was pinned against the center guard rail and appeared to be the only vehicle involved in the crash. The condition of the driver was not immediately available. The accident scene was just north of the parkway's Purchase Street exit. Police closed the left lane at about 1:30 p.m, it was re-opened by 3 p.m.

Harrison EMS and Westchester County Police were at the scene.

Less than a mile north of the accident, authorities closed one lane of the parkway on the northbound side because of flooding on the road. The lane is closed near the East Lincoln Avenue exit.
