6 Accused of Marijuana Possession

The following arrest information was provided by the Harrison Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Bronx man caught with about 30 grams of marijuana on Westchester Avenue is among six people arrested for possessing marijuana in Harrison over the last two weeks, police say.

Alexis Gallardo, 19, made an illegal left turn onto Westchester Avenue on March 7 at about 9:50 p.m, police say. While interviewing the driver, the officer at the scene reported a strong smell or marijuana. Gallardo and his passenger were handcuffed at the scene and police say a search of the trunk yielded two medium sized bags of marijuana hidden in the trunk.

At this time police say Gallardo admitted that the marijuana was his and said his passenger was unaware of the pot he was carrying. Gallardo was arrested and his passenger was released.

Police later determined that Gallardo was carrying approximately 30 grams of marijuana, arrest reports say. Police charged Gallardo with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth-degree, a misdemeanor. He was processed and released without bail and is due in Harrison Court March 27.

Five others were cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, over the last two weeks.

Police cited two Harrison women on March 6 at about 10:30 p.m. after discovering marijuana in their vehicle following a traffic stop on Harrison Avenue, according to arrest reports.

Police say the women were carrying three marijuana cigarettes and a glass container holding marijuana residue. The 19-year-old driver and 12-year-old passenger were both cited and released at the scene.

Police cited a 22-year-old Bronx man on March 6 after a traffic stop on Westchester Avenue. Police say they discovered marijuana hidden in a soda can, spray can and inside the driver's side visor.

The man had been traveling with two other man, but said the marijuana belonged to him. He was processed and released at the scene.

An 18-year-old Port Chester man was cited on March 7 at about 10:30 p.m. after police say he was caught with a plastic bag of marijuana during a traffic stop on Halstead Avenue.

A 28-year-old Harrison man was cited on March 9 after police say he was smoking marijuana in his vehicle while parked on Park Place. When police arrived they say the man admitted he had been smoking and police discovered a glass pipe containing marijuana residue and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette.

A 26-year-old Scarsdale man was cited on March 6 after police say he was caught with two marijuana cigarettes and a marijuana grinder in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

The man was cited and released at the scene.
