HCSD BOE still keeping the general public uninformed on the budget
HCSD keeping general public in the dark
This is a notice that was sent home with the Harrison Schools Students. Not announced anywhere else. Don’t you think that everyone should be invited to these meetings? Also notice they are presenting the budget, not discussing the budget. These meetings are not mentioned on the HCSD web site and the budget is not available for review on the HCSD web site. Why? If we are expected to vote on this don’t we have the right to be informed on where the money is being spent? Also NYS Law dictates that the budget be made available to the general public 7 days before the official budget hearing which is on May 8th. The BOE is in violation of this guideline. I wonder what would happen to a student who turned in his/her homework assignment a couple of days late! This is the bulk of the taxes we pay in Harrison and the BOE chooses to keep us as uninformed as possible. Get out and vote May 21. Tell your friends and family and ask them to spread the word to get out and vote. Regardless of how the BOE chooses to operate they cannot control your vote. Speak loud and clear get out to vote!!!
