POLICE: Middle School Sign Changed to Spell ‘Penis’

An Irvington Middle School Sign received a makeover when the letters were changed to spell "penis." The sign was quickly changed. 

Police: Wrong-Way Driver Hit State Trooper's Car

An Elmsford woman, 49, was driving drunk and in the wrong direction on I-684 last week and eventually sideswiped a State Trooper vehicle and smashed the sideview mirror. No one was injured during the incident. 

A 75-year-old Mamaroneck woman lost part of her finger and suffered puncture wounds on her hand while trying to rescue her Coton De Tulear from a pit bull attack. The woman was walking her dog when the unleashed pit bull attacked. According to a witness, both the woman and pit bull owner tried to separate the dogs but the small French breed did not survive. 

Police: Man Caught Stealing Frying Pans

Security at the White Plains Macy's called police after noticing a man attempting to steal two frying pans valued at $159.98.

Charges Against Clarkstown Activist Stem from 2008 Golf Course Project

A New City contractor was charged with theft and records-falsifying in connection with a 2008 golf course project. Michael Hirsch, the accused, is also a well-known Clarkstown activist. He has denied the charges. 

Haverstraw Mother Killed; Police Seek Shooter

A Haverstraw mother of two was found dead and police suspect her father-in-law may be connected to the death. Eugene Palmer reportedly admitted to a family member that he murdered Tammy Palmer, 36, his daughter-in-law, then fled. At the time of the report, police were searching for Eugene Palmer. 

Brewster Resident Scares Off Reported Intruder

An intruder attempted to enter a Brewster residence before being scared off by a family member who went to investigate the noise at the door. One of the residents saw a mountain bike in the middle of the road, then the bike disappeared. Police have obtained video of the area at the time of the incident and can see a person riding a bicycle in the street. Apparently, a resident of the home left her purse, which contained her house keys, in her unlocked car. 

Police: Kitchen Fight Leads to Arrest

An argument over the use of a shared kitchen in a Chatterton Ave. apartment led to a White Plains woman pulling her neighbor's hair and punching the alleged victim, according to police.
