RYE MAYOR TALKS PLAYLAND WITH THE BOL TUES. 9AM

Tuesday, May 27th the Westchester County Board of Legislators will be hosting Rye Mayor Joe Sack and other community representatives from Rye at the Labor, Parks, Planning and Housing Committee meeting on Sustainable Playland.  Chaired by Legislator Pete Harckham, the LPPH Committee is responsible for vetting the SPI plan for Playland Park.

The meeting starts at 9am and should go approximately two hours.

The discussion this week should be on the concerns that the community of Rye has specifically regarding Sustainable Playland's proposed 82,500 sq. ft. indoor sports facility/Field Zone construction project and the impact it will have on the residents and surrounding community.

Last week’s SEQR meeting was rather uneventful.  I’ll post an overview of that one this week, as well as an overview of the 5/27 meeting.

The public is welcome to attend these committee meetings, however there is no opportunity at these meetings for public questions or comments; if you go, it’s just as an observer.

Meetings are held at the County Office Building (Michaelian Building) at 148 Martine Ave. in White Plains (corner of Martine & Court Streets, across from the Macy’s entrance to the Galleria.) The actual entrance door is on Martine Avenue.  Be sure to bring photo ID with you so that you can get through Security in the Lobby before heading up the 8th floor meeting room. Once on the 8th floor you need to sign in with the receptionist.

If you cannot attend in person, you can either watch live in real-time via internet stream, or watch the taped video at a later time. To view the live stream/video, click on the link below. When it’s time for the actual meeting to start a button will appear next to “agenda packet” that you can click on for live feed/videotape.
