Marion Hains: Lived on Fremont Street

A graveside service will be held April 6 at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.

Marion Hains was born to Ella and George Klein, at home, on November 10, 1915. She lived in that home at 79 Fremont St, Harrison NY for 87 years until moving in 2003, to The Terrace at the Eddy Memorial in Troy, NY.

She died on April 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Marion was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved working in her garden, sitting on her porch, and visiting with friends. She was a longtime member and Deacon of the Harrison Presbyterian Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, John S. Hains, whom she married in 1940. She is survived by her son, Stephen Hains; daughter-in-law, Susan and grandchildren, Sarah (Rob) DiFazio, Rebecca (Michael) Monday, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Hains. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Madeline, Benjamin, and Chloe DiFazio, and a great-grandchild on the way, “Baby Hains”.

Calling hours will be on Friday, April 5th from 4 to 7pm at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY.

A graveside service will be held at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY at 11 am on Saturday, April 6th.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marion’s memory to the Nassau Free Library, 18 Church St, Nassau NY 12123.
