Josephine DellaDonna: Harrison Native

Josephine DellaDonna, 95, died peacefully on March 30, 2013 at the Nathaniel Witherell in Greenwich, CT.

Born April 15, 1917 in Harrison, NY to Dominick and Rose DiLallo, Jo lived in Harrison throughout her early years and graduated from Harrison High School.

Jo exhibited interest in the fashion arena from childhood becoming a talented seamstress. Her passion for fashion extended into her adult years as she became a sportswear buyer for a department store frequently traveling to New York City and Boston.

Jo was a successful business woman, owning and operating three women’s apparel stores in the Stamford area. After closing her retail stores, Jo embarked on a second career in the banking industry, working at Union Trust Company until her retirement.

Jo was also a devoted volunteer at Stamford Hospital. After her retirement, Jo relocated to Port St. Lucie Florida where she built her dream home and loved hosting visits for family and friends. Jo enjoyed reading, dancing, gardening and spending time with friends.

Most recently, she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Al Losito with whom she was blessed to share six joyful years.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Joanne Labati of Stamford, CT, a sister Rosemarie DiLallo of Rye Brook, NY., 2 granddaughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Charley Hafey, Lynn and John Bausch and two great granddaughters, Melissa and Caroline Hafey. Jo is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. 

There are no calling hours and burial is private.

The family would like to thank the staff of Nathaniel Witherell for their love and care during the last four and a half years.
