Every Fairy Tale Wedding does not have to be White!

Every fairy tale wedding doe not have to be white!

I am confident that I have seen everything when it comes to weddings! I have witnessed a million “cookie cutter” weddings and have also seen a handful of non traditional as well.  From destination weddings in Paradise Island to Montauk and more conservative religious affairs in NYC to festive Indian events in New Rochelle, we provide makeup services for every type of wedding and see it all!!

This past weekend one of my brides had a specific vision in mind.  I asked a million and one questions when she came in for her bridal trial to be able to visualize what she dreamed of for her Big Day. The focus of her wedding day was her favorite color: Black!! The details of her wedding were absolutely exquisite!! Her dress was Black with rhinestones placed intentionally and very delicately all over. Her hair had rhinestones throughout every curl to compliment the dress!  Her makeup request was an extremely smokey eye. The bridesmaids had a beautiful eggplant color dress. I used rich eggplants and charcoals to create a smokey eye. The smokey eye was completed with individual waterproof eye lashes and “winged” eye liner...a JKFlashy signature!

When I arrived with my Staff of Luxury Makeup Artists to her hotel suite she was absolutely glowing! Her smile touched my heart...her smile came from within her soul and poured through her eyes.  She glowed and I could tell this Bride dreamed of this day from an early age of childhood as most young girls do. That huge smile never left her face or her eyes. It was a privilege to be chosen as a vendor to be a part of her dream for her wedding day.

Nope, not every 'fairy tale' wedding has to be white, but no the matter the color, more than half will end in 'fairy tale' divorce.

That bride had a lot of time on her hands. I've always wondered, how long does it take to ask a million and one questions? We've got a little pool going here, I've got nine and a half months.

After your description of the bride, how could you leave out the groom. Let me guess, was he carrying a sickle?

Her dress IS very pretty. My own mother would have had a heart attack if I'd insisted on doing anything "out of the ordinary." - I'm glad to see that more people are doing what they want to do for their weddings.

She makes black look very elegant for a wedding, love the hair, the flowers, the make-up. Well done!
