Louis M. Klein Middle School seventh grader Jonathan Sullivan has earned the right to compete at the 2014 New York National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek.

Earlier in the school year, the seventh grade Social Studies teachers held preliminary competitions to determine the twelve finalists that would compete in the 2014 LMK Geo Bee.The finalists were: Melia Aholoe, Lianne Davidoff, Dylan Fitzgerald, Sara Garcia, Ciara Gougherty, Austin Mueller, Isabel O’Connell, Christian Pizzutello, Jonathan Sullivan, Cassidy Urban, Jan Carlo Yepes Perafin, and Conor Kelly.

After numerous rounds of suspense-filled competition, only Jonathan Sullivan and Austin Mueller remained.  Jonathan successfully identified the Chesapeake Bay as the place the Potomac River empties into to win the bee.
