HHS Senior Jake Marino Sign Letter of Intent to Play Lacrosse at UMass

Senior Jake Marino signed his National Letter of Intent on Friday, November 15th to play Lacrosse for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen.  Marino inked his commitment as family members, coaches, administrators, and fellow Lacrosse and Football teammates lent their support.

Marino, who has earned All League and All Section recognition each year for the Harrison Husky Lacrosse team, had made a verbal commitment to UMass as a sophomore in July 2012.  His coach, Jason Rabinowitz, credits Marino’s drive and dedication to the sport as one of the reasons that the sport is growing at Harrison High School and Louis M. Klein Middle School.  Last year, Jake and the Lacrosse team were also a part of the NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction Award presented to Harrison High School for academic achievement.

“We’ve seen this program grow over the past four years because of his presence and he presence of his fellow players,” Coach Rabinowitz said in a post signing interview.  “This opens up new opportunities for young players and shows they can perform in the classroom as well as on the field.”
