Harrison High School's Youth Volunteers of Harrison Club Walk for Breast Cancer

Students of Harrison High School’s Youth Volunteers of Harrison (YVH) club participated in the annual Breast Cancer Walk Sunday, October 20th. The students joined hundreds in proudly walking 4.4 miles from Manhattanville College to raise breast cancer awareness in the Westchester sector of the walk.  Honoring its 10th anniversary, the Breast Cancer Walk is a day where hundreds of cities across the country come together and walk to raise awareness of the increasing number of breast cancer patients. The walk proved to be enjoyable and rewarding for the YVH members who participated.

YVH is made up of more than forty Harrison High School students who are determined and passionate about improving the Harrison community and places beyond. Officers Erica Dattero, Brittany Wolfe, and Kendra Deschamps with the supervision of HHS teacher Nancy O’Reilly coordinate activities for which the group participates.  Future events include the Children’s Hope Chest Hat and Glove Drive, participation in Kids Kloset, and aid in Prom Perfect project.  Each member has a strong desire to help others and fulfills this passion through the activities of the club.
