Harrison High School Marching Band to Perform in the UBS Parade Spectacular

The Harrison High School Marching Band will be among the performers headlining the UBS Parade Spectacular on Sunday, November 24 in Stamford, Connecticut.  The parade will begin at 12 noon sharp.

Celebrating its 20th year, the annual parade has grown to attract over 100,000 spectators from the local area and beyond, earning a number of awards along the way.  This year’s Spectacular will feature 16 gigantic helium balloons, floats, other performance groups and city officials.  Former New York Knick basketball player Allan Houston will be this year’s Grand Marshal and Alan Kalter of the “Late Show with David Letterman” will return as master of ceremonies.

Harrison High School Marching Band Director Charles Briem noted that performances such as these are aligned with the district’s mission to provide meaningful experiences on a national stage.

“The UBS Parade Spectacular in Stamford has become a powerful vehicle for us in this regard,” Briem said.  “Our students experience a “big-time” parade with hundreds of thousands of spectators and have the unique opportunity to present themselves visually and musically in a high-pressure performance setting.  We look forward to this opportunity every year.”

The Harrison High School Marching Band has participated in the UBS Parade Spectacular every year for the past five years.  Harrison will join ten other award winning high school bands from New York and Connecticut along the parade route.
