LMK Students Hold Carnival To Raise Money For The Robin Hood Foundation
Louis M. Klein Middle School Students Raise Moeny For The Robin Hood Foundation
The sixth, seventh and eighth grade Student Councils of LMK sponsored a February carnival to support the Robin Hood Foundation’s ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief effort. The event was attended by over 300 students and 20 faculty members and raised more than $6,600.
Students competed in traditional carnival games, whipped cream pie eating contests, dancing contests and for the first time a ping pong tournament. After dancing to the beats supplied by student DJs and taking commemorative photos, students could purchase cotton candy and baked goods supplied by members of the National Junior Honor Society.
Raffle prizes, donated by local businesses, teachers and the PTA, such as Visa gift cards, gift certificates, a Joe Girardi autographed baseball and an iPad mini were awarded at the end of the fun filled evening.
