The LMK Science Olympiad team captured eight medals in an outstanding showing at the Regional Finals competition held at Scarsdale Middle School. This year’s team of “veteran” Olympians doubled the previous year’s medal count.
Eighth grader Christian Riegler was the winner of three medals. He and partner seventh grader Eric Kopczynski medaled in the Water Quality event for the second year in a row. In an event that she medaled in last year, eighth grader Leslie An and Christian placed in the top 10 in the “Write It – Do It” event. Christian and partner eighth grader Joseph Hirshorn medaled in the “Anatomy” event.
Seventh grader Matthew Schwartz medaled in the “Meterology” event for the second straight year with partner Keon Azar.
