In only its first year of competition, the Harrison High School Business Club captured a first place medal at the 2013 New York State DECA Conference and Business Competition held in Rochester. Eight HHS students qualified for the State competition last month and have been preparing for this three-day event that included over 1,700 students from across the state.
Junior Sam Colangelo won first place in the area of Principles of Finance and has qualified to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC). This National event hosts over 14,000 students who have qualified in one of DECA’s competitive events, advisors, business persons and alumni and engages them in competition as well as leadership and career advancing academies.
Juniors Dan Maldonado and Brett Saviano also received recognition by placing in the top ten of their categories.
