Nick Galasso Named '12 Citizen of the Year

The Harrison Recreation Department made the announcement Thursday. Galasso will be honored during the Great to Live in Harrison/Columbus Day Parade on Oct. 8.

Harrison's Nick Galasso will be honored as the town's 2012 Citizen of the Year during this year's It's Great to Live in Harrison celebration.

As citizen of the year, Galasso will be a part of the Great to Live in Harrison/Columbus Day parade on Oct. 8. A panel selected Galasso from nominees submitted this year by Harrison residents.

The Harrison Recreation Department announced the selection Friday, saying the following about this year's winner:

"Mr. Galasso is a lifelong resident of Harrison and a wonderful role model for our residents. His many years of service to the children of Harrison and continuous commitment to the sports programs make him an honorable citizen which the town can be proud of."
