Forbes Ranks Tarrytown Among Top 10 Prettiest Towns in America

Lyndhurst, Washington Irving and other famous sites and people put us the map; here are some other chances to get us on other maps, and maybe win some $$.

Forbes has dubbed Tarrytown one of 'America's prettiest towns' and we couldn't agree more! We hold our own in their list of ten among such places as Newport, Rhode Island and Key West, Florida. Check out all the contenders with their beautiful photos (ours of the /Main Street and ) here.

The Forbes' blurb notes our "rich history, including being a throughway on the Underground Railroad, name-dropped by Washington Irving in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and, later, one of the preferred Upstate getaways for New York’s rich and powerful, is visible wherever you go in this Hudson River-side town."

Then there's Lyndhurst, "the widely-regarded robber baron Jay Gould’s castle-like mansion in town, is toured by throngs of visitors every year" and about to open up for their spring season.

Sure is nice to be celebrated, but let's not stop there.

Here's more chances to get Tarrytown (or Sleepy Hollow!) on more best-of lists, and win some money:

Patriots Park is a scenic as well as historic attraction. Patch has run some pretty pictures of the park taken by Wade Schultz.

Congratulations to all the merchants, restaurants, galleries and businesses who have maintained a higher standard for their store fronts and interiors. Kudos to the Music Hall, Lyndhurst and Historic Hudson Valley for preserving the history and marketing the area. We hope that visitors will continue to enjoy this river town for years to come and we hope that we will do our best to preserve it's beauty!

Check out the new Reader's Digest contest; then we can also be the Most Interesting. Sleepy Hollow anyone?

Glad that I voted for the incumbent's in the recent election. The losers who think they know all about how to run a government would have wrecked this beautiful place.
