Who: Curious parents welcomed!

One hundred years ago, Dr.  Maria Montessori proved that all children have the capacity for creative brilliance when given time, tools, and a nurturing structure within which to work.  She understood that when it comes to education, one size does not fit all.

Today, Montessori education is a worldwide phenomenon, providing an inspirational alternative for families seeking the perfect educational fit for their children.

At this public event at Hudson Country Montessori School in New Rochelle, Educational Director Marilyn Horan will give parents a tour of the school, followed by a talk and Q&A. Mrs. Horan will discuss the following:

·      The fundamentals of Montessori education

·      Can any school be called a Montessori school?

·      The curriculum at Hudson Country Montessori School
(HCMS)

·      The differences between HCMS and traditional schools

·      The teacher-student relationship at HCMS

Hudson Country Montessori School was founded in 1972 by Musya Meyer, a New Rochelle resident who had been trained as a Montessori educator in Europe. Forty years later, it educates 500 students annually (pre-K through 8th grade) on its campuses in New Rochelle and Danbury, CT.

We invite parents curious about Montessori philosophy and HCMS to join us on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30 pm.

Please register for the event by November 17, by calling Regina Milano at 914-830-9957.  As this event is for parents, we ask that children remain at home. Refreshments will be served.
