Awaken is a newly forming church in White Plains, NY. We are attempting to create a casual worship environment for a time of music and teaching where anyone regardless of their religious background or affiliation feels welcome and part of our journey. Join us at Awaken as we celebrate together this time of Advent. We will be holding two Advent services this December, the 9th and 16th at the Renaissance Hotel in West Harrison, NY. In addition to an adult service, we have included a special kids service for those in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Life often seems to be filled with long moments of waiting. Waiting for the weekend, the vacation, the party, the baby, the car, the movie, the next year. We wait, our waiting is fulfilled, and then we wait some more. Advent is just that. Waiting for what’s next. Not hopeless waiting. But waiting with a sense of wonder, a sense of awe and excitement for what’s to come. It’s about putting aside those times of waiting for things that never happened, or things that didn’t work out. Advent is a hopeful expectation that what’s about to come can be better. That what’s about to come is something fresh and new. And it can redeem those moments when our waiting left us cynical and jaded. For what’s about to come is better than anything ever expected.
