What Happened To My Post On Patch?

Have you typed up a post for the boards, added a photo, hit submit and cannot seem to find where your awesome announcement has gone? Not to worry. All the posts on the Patch boards must be approved before they are published. Typically, it takes 48 hours for your post to go live on the site.

A few notes about our new Patch sites:

  • They work best with Google Chrome as your web browser. Try using Chrome if you are having trouble uploading and posting on Patch.
  • ALWAYS save a copy of your announcement or blog in another format. A great thing to do in case your computer freezes, the site slows down or you accidentally hit the delete button.
  • Did you receive a "spam" rejection? If our "spambot" caught your tag sale or press release or fundraiser or blog by accident, just email your Patch Community Editor. She will remove it from the filter for you.
  • Editors can not edit user posts. You can edit your own post at any time! Simply log in, hover over your name in the top right corner, choose "your posts" from the drop down menu and edit away.

this is a "top news" item? Must be a pretty flexible definition used for that tag by Patch.

Yep I' m going to use google chrome to look at patch on my iPad. Good gravy. I just tried to read the opinion post on the Nero purchase and it is illegible as it doesn't pour into its box properly. This redesign has been unfortunately messy. You had something that worked fine, you threw some bells and whistles aka clutter on and decreased the sites usability and legibility. If you can't pull off something fancy you shouldn't. And that's not a very big if. Patch redesign = complete disaster except for whoever sold you a bunch of baloney and got paid a bunch of money for a less usable site. Boo.

I'm with Craig. The new format is a complete, total, unequivocal FAILURE. You took something very appealing and easy to use and replaced it with garbage. Just perfect for driving folks away.

Besides, my hairdo looks nothing like the blue guy next to this post. What is he doing there anyway? Icons provide visual shorthand. I guess the idea here is to inform you that this comment was written by a human being. Which is to say the little blue guy is just one example of unneeded clutter. All he does is take up columnar space.
