Wake Up with Patch: Toddler Music and Teen Talent TV Auditions
A look at some important information to know on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011.
1. Harrison Parent group advocates for grade-based entrance for Advanced Courses
A Harrison High School parent group and the district's board of education are at odds about whether the district should allow all students entrance into advanced courses. The group is also advocating for the district to reintroduce student "tracking," a system that provides guidelines to which students can take advanced classes over time, among other things including more communication between the district and parents.

Today from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. the Harrison Public Library will host a music performance for toddlers with musician Graham Clarke. The event is free and intended for children ages two to five.
3. New TV Series Looking for Local Teen TalentMSG Varsity is seeking local teenagers who are talented singers, musicians and dancers to tryout for a spot to perform on a new TV series.

4. School BOARD MEETING CANCELLEDThe Harrison Central School District Board of Education meeting that was scheduled for tonight at 7:30 p.m. at LMK Middle School has been cancelled. A new date has not been set.
