Wake Up with Patch: Senior Health and Fitness Day, County Legislature Approves Redistricting

A look at five things to know today.

1. Events Planned for Senior Health and Fitness Day

Today is National Senior Health and Fitness Day. As a local initiative, Westchester County is hosting various events—from tai chi and yoga classes to lectures on healthy lifestyles—across the county. Most of the events are open to county residents older than 60.

2. 'Springtime Around the World' Raises More Than $400 for Japan Disaster Relief

In Harrison Chamber of Commerce President , she recounts an evening of dinner and dancing at the "Springtime Around the World" event last weekend.

The event, hosted by the Harrison Players, raised more than $400 in a 50/50 raffle for Japan Disaster Relief. The contribution will bring the Harrison community's donations to the ARC Japan Relief Fund to more than $10,000.

3. Music and Movement for Toddlers with Lori Jo

The Harrison Public Library will host a free special music and movement event today from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

4. County Legislature Votes to Divide Harrison

The Westchester County Board of Legislators voted earlier this week to override a veto by County Executive Robert Astorino. The board kept on the table legislation that would divide Harrison into three voting blocks from 2012 through 2021. To learn more, read .
